If you are a fan of Trader Joe’s, you will like this! One of my favorite items from Trader Joe’s, is the Tomato & Basil Hummus Dip. I crave for this ever since I moved out of USA! I was on mission to replicate this and I did it! If you have a blender or food processor at home, try it!
INGREDIENTS | |

Canned Chickpeas | 14oz / 400g |
(Reserve Water from Canned Chickpea) | ⅓ Cup / 80ml |
Sun Dried Tomatoes | 8-10 Pieces |
Fresh Basil Leaves | 10 Pieces |
Tahini | 1 Tablespoon |
Olive Oil | 3 Tablespoons |
Lemon Juice | 3 Tablespoons |
Minced Garlic | 1 Tablespoon |
Smoked Paprika | 1 Teaspoon |
Ground Cumin | ½ Teaspoon |
Salt | ¼ Teaspoon |
Black Pepper | A dash |
DIRECTIONS
- Add all ingredients (except the reserved water from the canned chickpea) to a food processor and blend them until they are all mixed well.
- Slowly add the reserved canned chickpea water to the food processor and blend until the hummus dip texture has reached your desired smoothness.
- Serve with tortilla chips!
